Private Properties: Real-estate briefs on the rich and famous

Oscar-winning actress Sophia Loren and her husband, film producer Carlo Ponti, have sold their 40-acre California ranch, which had been listed for $6.9 million.

The property, known as "La Concordia," is in Hidden Valley, about 30 miles northwest of Los Angeles. Ms. Loren, 72 years old, known for such films as "El Cid" and "Marriage Italian Style," won an Academy Award in 1961 for "Two Women" and also got an honorary Oscar in 1990. Producer Mr. Ponti, who turns 94 next week, is best known for the 1965 epic "Doctor Zhivago."

Actress Tuesday Weld is looking to sell her Montauk, N.Y., home for just under $10 million.

The 1.2-acre oceanfront property is on a bluff, not far from the center of the Eastern Long Island village. There's a five-bedroom main house, a one-bedr
