"Charles Stennis has seen folks in his West Pullman neighborhood die from prostate cancer. He has seen the terrible toll exacted on the patient and his family. "

"So when his wife, Shari, read about the Chicago Sun-Times' offer of a free prostate screening and suggested he go, Stennis made the time Thursday. He even took along his younger brother, Vertroy. "

"The Sun-Times -- with the National Prostate Cancer Coalition and nine local hospitals -- is offering free prostate-specific antigen (PSA) tests and a physical exam throughout the area through Saturday. "

"Men 40 and older can drop by a mobile clinic; no appointment is necessary. Health care workers will draw blood, and doctors will conduct the physical exam. PSA results will arrive in the mail within four weeks. "
